The largest metro depot in Vietnam, the first of HCMC, almost ready

Many workers and machines are busy finishing the last items from the depot.

Work on HCMC’s first metro project began in 2012 and has suffered several delays, with costs rising to more than VND43.7 trillion ($1.77 billion).

The route covers almost 20 km and runs from the iconic Ben Thanh Market in District 1 to the Long Binh Depot with three metro stations and 11 above ground.

Under the latest plans announced last month, seven of the 17 trains that will operate on the route will enter service in July and the rest later.
