Here’s what you need to know before voting in DeKalb County

•

🗓️ The core: DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections urges all registered voters to make a plan to vote in the May 21 General Primary Election.

🤔 Why it matters: Advance planning can help ensure a smooth voting experience and avoid problems such as arriving at the wrong precinct or missing the deadline for submitting absentee ballots.

❓ What is going on: On Election Day, voters must cast their ballots in their assigned precinct.

  • Voters can verify their precinct information at www.DeKalbVotes.com and view wait times.
  • Provisional ballots are only available in the last hour of voting for those who arrive at the wrong precinct.

📬 Absentee Ballots: Completed absentee ballots must be delivered in person to the DeKalb elections office at 4380 Memorial Drive, Suite 300, in Decatur by 7:00 PM on Election Day to be counted.

🖼️ The big picture: Keisha Smith, executive director of DeKalb VRE, expects a busy Election Day. “We expect a busy Election Day and our staff is ready to serve,” she said. “We encourage all voters to exercise their constitutional right and make a plan to vote.”
