Speaking at the event, Vice Minister of Information and Communications Bui Hoang Phuong highlighted the long-standing relations between Vietnam and India over the past 50 years, noting that there is still plenty of room for future cooperation between the two countries, especially in field of artificial intelligence (AI). and semiconductor technology.

He further revealed that Vietnam’s information technology (IT) and digital technology industry has made remarkable progress over the past decade, growing between 15% and 20% thanks to the involvement of renowned groups such as Samsung and LG.

Phuong attributed the success to the Vietnamese government’s deliberate policies, including the development of concentrated IT parks and the acceleration of software production activities to support foreign-invested companies in the country.

Moreover, other strategies have been devised, including the development of AI until 2030, with the aim of making AI a crucial domain.

The government of Vietnam is expected to formulate a project to develop a workforce for the semiconductor industry until 2030, and issue a law on the digital technology industry by 2025, he added.

For his part, Murthy expressed his respect for the courage, dedication, discipline and ambition shown by generations of Vietnamese people, especially tech-savvy developers. He expressed his belief that many countries around the world would learn from the creativity of Vietnamese people.

At the event, the Indian billionaire shared his practical experiences in business, management and building corporate culture that have transformed Infosys from an unknown company into a global technology company. Infosys now employs over 160,400 employees in more than 30 countries around the world, generating annual revenues of over $8 billion.

He also spoke to Vietnam’s technology community about promoting enterprise innovation, developing new technology trends and opportunities for Vietnam’s IT industry.
