President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. aims to make the Philippines a leader in smart and sustainable transportation in the Indo-Pacific region.

At the Indo-Pacific Business Forum, Marcos Jr. that he has directed the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) to implement projects that meet the needs. of Filipinos and businesses.

According to him, the Philippines is adopting new technologies to make its transportation systems smarter and more responsive to changing needs.

“There is still a long way to go, but we are committed to making the Philippines a leader in smart and sustainable transportation. And we believe that with the right investments and partnerships, we will achieve that goal,” the president added.

While acknowledging that the country has not yet achieved seamless smart transportation, Marcos Jr. said. that this is still in the pipeline through the enforcement of policies by the DPWH, DOTr and the NEDA.

“We have a wide range of programs and projects underway, all aimed at making our transport systems more efficient and our cities smarter,” said the CEO.

“At the heart of this effort is our National Transportation Policy. This policy recognizes the crucial role that transport plays in our socio-economic development,” he added.
