KNP benefits farmers, fishermen and MSMEs of Occidental Mindoro

In addition to handicrafts, fresh vegetables, dairy products, dried fish and wine, KNP also presented products from Paluan Food Processors Association (PFPA), a group mainly composed of housewives from Paluan Municipality.

Jerlie Deseco, president of PFPA, said KNP helped promote and sell their pastillas, yema candies and banana chips.

She said their products can only be found in Pasalubong Centers, but with trading centers like KNP, they now have another location to sell their goods to regular customers and meet new customers. Their association earned P15,000 in the first three days.

Cortazar admitted that since it is their first time dealing with KNP, there is still a lot of room for improvement. DOLE Occidental Mindoro, he added, is already looking forward to the next KNP project, where he plans to rely on farmer organizations that will provide low-priced agricultural products, especially rice.
