Single-engine plane crashes in Holland Township field

A single-engine plane crashed in a field in Hunterdon County Monday afternoon, officials said.

They say it happened in a field on Ellis Road in Holland Township just before 4:30 p.m. Officials say the pilot was trying to land in a large hay field. The plane turned over during landing. The pilot was the only person on the plane at the time of the crash.

The pilot was treated at the scene for minor injuries. No one on the ground was injured, officials said.

The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the cause of the crash.
