Activities at Karachi Port Trust and Port Qasim – Markets

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 178,143 tonnes of cargo, of which 137,260 tonnes was import cargo and 40,883 tonnes was export cargo during the last 48 hours ending at 7am.

The total import cargo of 137,260 consisted of 124,100 tons of container cargo, 5,335 tons of bulk cargo and 7,825 tons of wheat.

The total export freight of 40,883 consisted of 30,883 tons of container freight and 10,000 tons of oil and liquid freight.

As many as 05 ships, namely Wan Hai 612, Sea Elegant, Jin Hai Zheng, Ts Keelung & APL Antwerp, berth at the Karachi Port Trust.

Around 6 ships namely Clemens Schulte, Sounion Trader, MT Sargodha, X-Press Phoenix, Jin Hai Zheng and MSC Beatrice departed from Karachi Port Trust.


A total of ten ships were moored at PQA berths in the past 24 hours, with two ships, Tucapel and Pan Ivy, leaving the port on Monday morning, while four more ships, Maersk Durban, Rigel, Hafnia Excel and OM, are expected to depart. sailing on Monday.

The cargo volume of 144,554 tons, consisting of 126,123 tons of import cargo and 18,431 tons of export cargo, transported in 4,099 containers (3,202 TEU imports and 897 TEU exports), was handled at the port over the past 24 hours.

There are 10 ships in the outer anchorage of Port Qasim, of which five ships, MSC Mumbai-VIII, OBE Queen, Tethis-7, Advantage Paradise and Bulk Jamaica and another ship, Chemroad Zenith with containers, fertilizers, palm oil, gas oil, coal and chemicals are expected to dock at QICT, FAP, LCT, FOTCO, PIBT and EVTL respectively today, May 20, while three more container ships, Conti Courage, Maersk Nyassa and Hope Island, will arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday.
