Hisar, Haryana, May 20 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah blasted the Congress party and party member Rahul Gandhi and said Wayanad MP should launch a “Congress Dhundho Yatra” after the ongoing general elections to “find” the party.
Addressing a public meeting in Haryana’s Hisar on Monday, Shah said: “On one hand, there is Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is giving a befitting reply to Pakistan. On the other hand, Congress leaders say we should not ask about Pakistan-occupied Kashmir because there is a nuclear bomb there. PoK belongs to India and we will take it back from Pakistan.”
“Rahul Gandhi started the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. After June 4, Rahul Gandhi will have to launch ‘Congress Dhundho Yatra’. Congress will not be visible even with binoculars. In the 2024 elections, the lotus of Modiji’s development will blossom everywhere, from Sirsa to Sonipat, from Panchkula to Palwal,” he added.
Shah further alleged that Congress is trying to win the elections on the basis of lies while realizing their defeat.
“The Congress Party sees defeat and wants to win on the basis of lies. They say if Modiji gets 400 seats, he will do away with reservations. I want to tell you that as long as the BJP has even one MP, we will not allow reservation to be abolished. Congress has made reservations for Muslims. If you get us 400 seats, the BJP will also do the work to end this unconstitutional reservation,” Amit Shah said.
Earlier in the day, while addressing an election rally in Haryana’s Karnal, Shah slammed the opposition alliance, with the INDIA bloc claiming that the latter has neither leaders nor policies.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday wondered who the INDIA bloc’s Prime Minister will be if they come to power in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
“Who will become their prime minister if they cross the majority line? Will it be Sharad Pawar, Mamata Banerjee, Stalin, Arvind Kejriwal, Uddhav Thackeray? Will it be Rahul Gandhi? These people have no leaders or policies,” Shah said while campaigning at Haryana’s Karnal on Monday.
Attacking the Congress for suggesting that the bloc could have Prime Ministers alternately over a period of five years, Shah said it is not about running a shop but about governing a country of 130 crore people.
“When a reporter asked him who would be their prime minister, he said they would take turns being prime minister for a period of five years. Rahul Baba does not understand that this is not a shop but a country of 130 crore people,” Shah said.
Pointing out that the Prime Minister has a “special bond” with Haryana, Shah said, “The people of Haryana are entitled to Prime Minister Modi. I have been working with PM Modi for so many years. When he was in Gujarat, he was worried about Haryana and now that he is here (in Delhi), he keeps talking about Haryana. Modi ji has a special attachment and love for Haryana.”
Voting on all 10 seats in Haryana will take place on May 25. The counting of votes will take place on June 4. In 2019, the BJP swept the state by winning all 10 seats.
