Lady Panthers fall in district finals

Fairbanks ends the softball season with a 19-3 record and a share of the OHC North title

PICKERINGTON – After a stellar season that captured the first Ohio Heritage Conference title in school history, the #1 seed Fairbanks varsity softball team’s year came to an end Saturday with a 9-5 loss to #3 seed Liberty-Union in the OHSAA Division III, Centerville Region, Central 1 District Finals at Pickerington High School Central.

The Lady Panthers end their stellar 2024 campaign with a 19-3 record and a piece of the OHC North Division title with a 14-2 mark, sharing the title with Mechanicsburg.

Jenna Dee hit a two-run homer for the Panthers against the Lions on Saturday, finishing with two hits that night. Hailey Dee and Maddi Sines each had a hit and an RBI and Elizabeth Gregory, Tiffini Harper and Claire Meihls all collected a hit for the Panthers.

Macy Kise took the loss on the mound for the Fairbanks, allowing eight hits and striking out two. Maddi Sines also pitched an inning for the Panthers, giving up one hit and striking out one batter.

Liberty-Union now continues to play Carlisle in the Div. III Centerville Regional Semifinals Wednesday.
