Garmin introduces 28 fixes, improvements and changes in the Fenix ​​7 update

The Garmin Fenix ​​​​7 is a well-known tool for athletes: a smartwatch you can rely on.

Not that it doesn’t have its fair share of bugs and issues, but so does every piece of technology out there.

Now there’s a huge update from Garmin: software version 17.20 for the Fenix ​​7 Pro family series of devices that brings a total of 28 fixes, improvements and changes that Fenix ​​7 owners will be happy with.

Here’s the full list:

  • Find my phone added during a GPS activity.
  • Added Garmin Messenger app.
  • Added dynamic heart rate source switching to select the best heart rate data source (watch or chest heart rate) to improve accuracy during running activities.
  • Added Indoor Walk activity.
  • Added Recovery Advisor as an option in Morning Report and Glances.
  • Added self-assessment to more activity types.
  • CIQ bug fixes and improvements.
  • Fixed incorrect trolling motor warnings.
  • Fixed an incorrect battery estimate prior to expedition activities.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented heart rate graphs from displaying on some watch faces.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Outdoor Maps+ to endlessly request data.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the cadence flashlight to incorrectly enable in the ‘Resume Later’ state.
  • Fixed an issue where “Lap Deleted” would continue to flash on the screen after the activity was saved.
  • Fixed an issue where the X icon was still showing as Twitter.
  • Fixed an issue where WiFi was required to delete an already downloaded Outdoor Maps+ bundle.
  • Fixed an issue with the automatic pause speed selector.
  • Fixed an issue where Outdoor Maps+ would unexpectedly delete layers.
  • Fixed an issue with the number of ski slopes in the Latest Sports Look.
  • Fixed an issue with the altimeter gaze in large print mode.
  • Fixed possible disablement in the Body Battery widget.
  • Fixed possible issue with downloading large music playlists.
  • Fixed a possible issue with the weather map overlay.
  • Fixed possible shutdown on the navigation page.
  • Fixed possible shutdown when loading activity history with Auto Lock enabled.
  • Improved access to additional characters on the touch keyboard by adding a press-and-hold option to some keys.
