The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) officially reopened the newly renovated Airport Station on Monday.

MARTA temporarily closed the train station for six weeks beginning April 8 to complete renovation work on the concourse and platform levels, including installing new floors, replacing ceilings and lighting, and installing infrastructure for a new elevator.

The closure ensured the work could be carried out safely and significantly reduced the total construction time by 17 months.
