Clay Target: Park Rapids dominates in Week 4 – Park Rapids Enterprise

The Park Rapids Clay Dusters dominated Week 4 in Class 3A-Conference 6 of the Minnesota State High School Spring Clay Target League.

The Clay Dusters scored 3,647.50 points to take a commanding lead with one week remaining in spring competition. Park Rapids has 13,439.50 points after four weeks, while Monticello scored 3,151.50 points in Week 4 for a total of 12,253.50.

Alex Eischens achieved all 50 objectives and increased his conference average to 24.75. Avery Kapaun scored 48 goals to finish in second place with an average of 24.13, while Hunter Bozovsky scored 48 goals for an average of 23.88 to finish in third place. Cooper Sharp scored 47 targets and is fifth with an average of 23.63, while Derek May (who hit 47 targets) and Wyatt Koskela (who hit 49 targets) are tied for sixth at 23.50. Also in the top 25 are Silas Carter (10th at 22.75), Nickolas Long (tied for 13th at 22.50), Joseph Daugherty and Jacob Lof (tied for 16th at 22.38), Malakai Avila (tied for 21st at 22.13) and Cameron Swanson (25th at 21.88).

On the women’s side, Maggie Kay Carter tops the conference with an average of 22.63 after completing 45 targets. Evelyn McCloud is ninth at 5:50 p.m. and Grace McCloud is 23rd at 2:13 p.m.

Rounding out the conference standings are Annandale (2,545 points in Week 4 for 10,375 total points), Walker-Hackensack-Akeley (2,234.50 points in Week 4 for 8,963 total points), Fosston (1,594 points in Week 4 for 6,867.50 points in total), Grand Meadow (1,691 points in week 4 for 6,181 points in total), Isle-Onamia (984.50 points in week 4 for 5,027.50 points in total) and Ashby (1,172 points in week 4 for 4,974 points in total).

Eischens ranks second among all classes and conferences, Kapaun 40th and Bozovski 73rd. Kevin Curry of Westbrook-Walnut Grove has the highest average of 24.88.

Fordyce Johnson maintained his lead in the league as the Menahga Bird Busters remained in third place in the Class 1A-Conference 10 standings.

Johnson scored 44 goals for an average of 23.63. Cooper Hasbargen scored 48 targets and is tied for fifth with an average of 23.00, Dalton Gartner hit 44 targets and is eighth at 22.50 and Tanner Trombley is 23rd with an average of 21.25.

Among the women, Caitlin Reitmeyer and Sylie Haugen are in seventh place with 18.13 averages, Davidrah Reitmeyer is 14th at 16.50 and Megan Makela is 19th at 14.75. Kenyon-Wanamingo’s Isabella Chmelik leads the conference with a 21.13 average.

The Bird Busters scored 970.50 points in Week 4 for a four-week total of 3,882, with Paynesville (1,088.50 points in Week 4 for 4,796 total points) and Kenyon-Wanamingo (1,043.50 points in Week 4 for 4,425 .50 points in total) led the conference. Following Menahga are Chisago Lakes (884 points in Week 4 for 3,187 total points), Hayfield (874.50 points in Week 4 for 2,690 total points), Foothills Christian Academy (526.50 points in Week 4 for 2,547 total points ), Yellow Medicine East (582 points). points in Week 4 for 2,438 total points) and Central Minnesota Christian (358.50 points in Week 4 for 1,346.50 points).
