Parking in Midlands Town largely unsuitable for wheelchair lift users

Calls are being made by a local election candidate for parking along Offaly city’s main street.

Parking should be introduced on the main street of an Offaly town, especially for disabled people.

That is the call from local election candidate Audrey Hennessy – Kennedy, who says parking spaces in the squares in Birr are not suitable for everyone using a wheelchair lift.

While there are suitable facilities for only cars with a disabled parking card, but not for cars with a van or bus.
