1,219 Units Overtown Development Approved, Construction Timeline Announced – The Next Miami

Miami’s Urban Development Review Board has voted in favor of a large-scale development in Overtown and the developer has announced a construction timeline.

The UDRB voted 4-0 last week to recommend approval as proposed.

Developer Terra is working with an entity controlled by the Mas family on the new community.

Three phases are planned. Construction of the project’s first phase, consisting of about 537 units, is expected to start in 2025, the developer said last week.

The apartments will be a mix of market-rate, workforce and affordable housing.

The developers said they are working with neighborhood stakeholders and the Overtown Community Redevelopment Agency, with the goal of providing viable housing options, improved walkability, green infrastructure and connectivity to nearby public transportation.

When all three phases are completed, development includes:

  • 1,219 residential units
  • 16,337 square meters commercial
  • 1,798 parking spaces

Arquitectonica is the architect.
