‘They want to deny rights to SC, ST and OBC’: PM Modi shares old video of Rahul Gandhi promising reservations for Muslims

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over an old video that showed promising reservations against Muslims. PM Modi shared a decade-old video of the Congress Lok Sabha candidate from Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh and called it the ‘real face’ of the grand old party.

“Today I saw an 11-12 year old video of Congress ‘shehzada’ Rahul Gandhi, in which he openly says that his party will give reservation to Muslims. This is the real face of the Congress, which the grand old party has managed to hide from the country for a long time,” the Prime Minister said.

In this old video, Rahul Gandhi could be heard saying, “We will give reservations to Muslim brothers. We will involve them.”

PM Modi shared the video on microblogging X and wrote, “Their words and their promise are there for all to hear. They want to deny rights to SC, ST and OBC communities and instead prefer UNFUNDAMENTAL Muslim reservations. Modi will not allow them to trample on Pujya Babasaheb’s Constitution,” PM Modi wrote in his X-post.

Earlier this month, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav spoke out in support of reservation for Muslims and said it “must be done now”. Prime Minister Modi had responded to Lalu Prasad Yadav’s comment accusing the INDIA bloc of not being able to see beyond “appeasement”. ever.

‘They can’t look beyond reconciliation now. If they come to themselves, they will also deprive you of your breathing rights,” the Prime Minister had said.

Prime Minister Modi, while addressing a public meeting in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar, took aim at Lalu Prasad Yadav and said a leader accused of ‘fodder fraud’ and out on bail is advocating reservation for Muslims.
