West Gray has a new main administration

New collective labor agreement Michele Harris

West Gray has hired a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

Michele Harris will assume the position of the city’s top staff effective July 8.

Harris has an extensive background in economic development and strategic management, according to a news release from the city.

Most recently, Harris served as Director of Construction, Economic and Community Development for the City of Gray Highlands.

The city says Harris has also served on the boards of several provincial and municipal tourism and economic development organizations, has been a lecturer and member of Humber College’s Academic Advisory Committee, and is an experienced speaker in the areas of tourism, innovation and regional economic development. .

She said in a statement: “I am excited about the opportunity to serve the residents of West Gray and support the great work being done by the council and council staff to deliver on the priorities set out in the West Gray Strategic Plan 2024-2026. ”

The council also said: “Extends its sincere thanks to Interim CAO Kerri Mighton for her exemplary service during the transition period. Ms. Mighton’s leadership, strong organizational commitment and efforts have been instrumental in maintaining the smooth operation of the council during the recruitment phase of the CAO.”
