ZUNHEBOTO, JUNE 14 (MExN): The second district level coordination meeting for the upcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections was held at the DC Conference Hall on June 14 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto Rahul Bhanudas Mali.

During his speech, DC emphasized that Zunheboto County and its citizens are appreciated for the peaceful environment that the people and stakeholders have maintained in recent years during the processes, conduct and post-election period. He called on them to uphold their reputation.

Additional Secretary and Election Observer Zunheboto Yanpvuthung Kikon appealed to all civil society organizations to work together in all possible ways. The candidates were also informed not to misuse the funds while warning that unfair means should not be tolerated.

SP Zunheboto and Kupe Kapfo, while highlighting security arrangements, asked the candidates to discourage the use of intoxicants while pointing out that the decision of each candidate to contest was a noble cause and thus the effort should also be noble are.

The security personnel would be divided into four sectors and kept under full supervision by the headquarters, he added. He asked the candidates to be careful about electoral violations, which will be least tolerated.

ADC & RO, ULB Elections, Keyirangding Hegui informed those present about the Model Code of Conduct. He also appealed to the GBs, municipal councillors, election officials, government officials and all other stakeholders for free and fair elections in the district.
